Solar Light and Schneider Electric bring safety lighting into focus in Denmark
Press release June 24, 2020
We all know the glowing green signs above emergency exits in cinemas, schools, institutions and shopping centres. This is due to the strict requirements for safety lighting in public places where many people gather.
As of now, safety lighting is a strategic focus within Solar’s strong lighting concept Solar Light™. With a new range of products from Schneider Electric, Solar makes their customers’ lives easier.
Instead of central solutions, where fireproof cables have to be pulled out to the individual installations, Solar Light is now able to offer decentral solutions. Each fitting now has a battery with an expected life of up to eight years. At the same time, it is possible to monitor the fittings centrally via wireless communication.
- We want to challenge the market. With the technologies that are currently available, we can offer decentral solutions in which you can still monitor the products centrally. Therefore, we are now actively trying to influence the market with this new assortment, underlines Thomas Hestbæk, Group Senior Category Manager Lighting, Solar.
Schneider Electric have delivered high-quality products and solutions within safety lighting in many European countries for a long time and wanted to launch them in Denmark as well.
- Therefore, we are very pleased that we through this collaboration with Solar are now able to realise our plans. Safety lighting is a product area, which plays a part in most new construction and renovations, and our product portfolio meets the needs of the Danish electrical trade and the consumers, says Jakob Andersen, Project Manager, Sales, Schneider Electric.
Today, Schneider Electric are already an acknowledged supplier within the safety area of automatic fire alarm systems (in Danish ABA) with its ESMI portfolio, and with this launch, they see a big potential in extending their offering within building and personal safety.
- We chose Solar Danmark to represent our portfolio of safety lighting products, as we are confident that their market position and experience within the area will enable them to deliver on our common objectives and ambitions, points out Jakob Andersen, Project Manager, Sales, Schneider Electric.
Sales Manager Flemming Andreasen at Solar Light also sees great prospect in the collaboration.
- Solar Light is one of the market leaders in the Danish lighting market, and business development is essential in order to maintain and expand our position. We must keep developing our product portfolio and contributing to change. Now, we take on safety lighting at a more strategic level as a natural part of being a sourcing and services company, points out Flemming Andreasen, Sales Manager, Solar Light.
