Solar delivered all they needed: electrical installation and lighting for Dutch automation specialist VSE's new energy-neutral building.
Dutch company VSE is a specialist in smart and innovative solutions in the field of industrial automation and motion control. They help their customers set up processes smarter, faster and in a more efficient and flexible manner - in a variety of industries from food industry to infrastructure. Being a large client for many years, they contacted Solar regarding electrical installation and lighting for a new energy-neutral building, as they knew that Solar could deliver everything they needed, being a one-stop shop with a large product range and many goods in stock, as well as being able to give advice and make calculations.
Henk van Brecht is Technical Sales Engineer in Solar Nederland and was responsible for the lighting solution for VSE. He says: "Their new building covers 6,000 m2 floor space with both office spaces and other areas as well as toilets, so it was a large project for us." Besides the lighting, Solar also delivered the electrical installation, among others PV and EV panels, emergency lighting, cable management and Halyester panels.
Martijn Fijan, Indoor Sales Manager, Solar Nederland, says: "We discussed with VSE whether we could be of added value in the field of PV and EV panels. We gave advice and created an installation plan for the PV panels, and our integrated solutions have played a part in advising and commissioning of the charging stations. With Solar as their partner, this means that VSE's building meets the latest requirements and techniques."
Lighting solution
VSE needed Solar's assistance for creating a lighting plan for the new building, including calculations. They had specific wishes for the light types and colours and in regard to the building management. Henk explains: "We listened to their wishes and translated that into a complete plan. Seeing that some of the rooms has climate ceilings, recessed fixtures above the office spaces were not an option, so here we chose the Lumiparts XLH pendant profiles. In the areas with no climate ceiling, we opted for the Lumission Inverso 150 downlights. We have used Norton NLS light lines in the warehouses and office spaces. The outdoor lighting is equipped with DLT Ecodut fixtures. All luminaires are equipped with DALI lighting control and operated by a building management system. The emergency lighting is equipped with Famostar Celo fixtures, and the escape route lighting with Lumission Selfy fixtures. After delivery, VSE installed the lighting themselves with no problems. They were extremely satisfied with the cooperation with Solar and with the lighting plan and the deliveries."
Operational Manager at VSE, Robert Vonk, says: "Our cooperation with Solar has been very good. We started with a lighting plan in which all of VSE's requirements were met to our complete satisfaction. Together we selected fixtures suitable for our application. Solar then supplied the components for the whole technical installation. We are very satisfied with the final result and see Solar as a valuable partner."
