Solar acquires the Danish lighting company Højager Belysning A/S

Press release March 2, 2022    ยท    Solar Danmark A/S

Effective today, Solar takes ownership of 100% of the shares in the lighting company Højager Belysning A/S.

With the acquisition, Solar takes a strong position with the B2G market in Denmark, as Højager Belysning A/S is a leading supplier within sales of light sources and lighting for the public sector with Staten og Kommunernes Indkøbsservice A/S (in short: SKI) and the regions being their customers.

”One of the essential reasons for the acquisition is Højager Belysning A/S’s status as the public sector’s preferred supplier of light sources and lighting. We see great potential for growth in Højager Belysning A/S, but at the same time, we want to maintain the company’s DNA that it has achieved over many years. Furthermore, we see obvious synergies and market opportunities that Solar and Højager Belysning A/S are going to work determinedly together on utilising”, says Carsten Antonisen from Solar.

Professional lighting for private companies and public institutions
Højager Belysning A/S is a trading and consultancy company, which was established 40 years ago. They specialise in delivering lighting for private companies, housing associations and public institutions in Denmark.

The company offers a wide assortment and a national network of sales consultants, who give advice on lighting, optimisation of lighting systems by finding the most economic choice of light sources for each individual project and making sure that the lighting system complies with Danish legislation.

Ready for new opportunities
Today, Højager Belysning A/S is led by a group of three owners; Lars Sparre, Stig Bay-Jørgensen and Carsten P. V. Larsen. They took over the company in 2005 and were previously employed in Højager Belysning A/S for 20 years.

But after more than 30 years in the company, the management trio is now ready to hand over the company. When they chose Solar, it was primarily because it is an opportunity to continue the company with its current profile and employees as well as all the new possibilities for development that it provides the company.

”We can see ourselves in Solar. Because just like Højager Belysning A/S, Solar is known for orderliness and honesty, which are two important values for us. At the same time, Solar is a Danish company with the culture that comes with it”, explains Carsten P. V. Larsen.

All three owners will leave the company when Solar takes over. Carsten Antonisen from Solar will function as managing director until the future director takes over.
