Solar collaborates with leading cable manufacturer to service industry customers

An new collaboration between Solar A/S and Lapp Group will give Scandinavian industry customers easier access to the right assortment of cables and electrical components. They offer a mix of high-quality products and logistics services, which can help industrial customers become more efficient.

Industrial cable products and high-quality electrical components. Thorough knowledge of the products, the industry and the customers. And a logistics setup fitted to the customer’s needs, wishes and area of business. Those are the key elements in the new collaboration between sourcing and services company Solar and manufacturer Lapp Group, who is behind well-known Lapp products such as Ölflex, Unitronic, Skintop and Fleximark Hitonic.

- The customers have the possibility to combine Lapp’s wide assortment of high-quality products with Solar’s knowledge, services and logistics. Which means that we stand much stronger together than apart, says Peter Pedersen, SVP, Commercial Market, Solar.

The collaboration means that the two companies’ customers are now able to consolidate their purchases with fewer suppliers. This matches Solar’s TCO mind set perfectly, he points out. And Lapp agree.

- Our existing customers will be able to buy Lapp products together with other materials from Solar, which means that they can reduce their total costs, says Krister Karlsson, managing director of Lapp in Denmark and Sweden.

In the food industry, in particular, we see great opportunities for this collaboration, says Ole Sørensen, SVP Industry Sales, Solar.

- Solar is specialised within the food industry and have many years of experience in this area. This means that we understand the complexity of the business and have developed a logistics setup that makes everything around the products run optimally. And with Lapp as our partner with their vast product range this will be a significant advantage for our customers.

Furthermore, both companies are broadly represented in Scandinavia, which makes availability even better.

- And it also provides the customers with possibilities to make good, Scandinavia-based agreements, Ole Sørensen points out.

Sales manager at Lapp Denmark Jens Kristensen and Solar sales engineer Henrik Jeppesen are excited to drive the new collaboration and provide the customers with new possibilities across the countries.
